Key Responsibilities
Be an advocate for Quality. Provide quality assurance for all utility work.
Be an advocate for Safety. Lead by example and ensure communication with KCI safety department is regular and effective.
Thoroughly uses effective communication and maintains good working relationships with project partners.
Model appropriate and professional behaviors, attitudes, and actions.
Facilitate teamwork and harmony between all construction crews by promoting and fostering a positive attitude.
Ensure consistency throughout KCI for estimating, job start up, project management, project documentation, and field execution.
Submit timecards to ensure consistency.
Attend weekly project meetings as required (Generally handled by Earthwork Superintendent)
Coordinate resources with Earthwork Superintendent
Participates in evaluation of future equipment needs and makes recommendations to Earthwork Superintendent
Ensure quality work is being done, with the emphasis on verifying correct grades from plans, and correct material is being installed
Hold Earthwork Crew accountable for trucks, tools, and materials.
Ensure all Utility Locates have been done before digging
Ensure the trucking and deliveries are set up with Earthwork Superintendent
Responsible for coordinating layout with Earthwork Superintendent.
Ensure that crew is making production with how the project was estimated
Coordinate with Earthwork Superintendent to coordinate Equipment availability, material stockpiles, etc…
Qualifications/Experience
At least 3 years in construction with a focus Excavation & Roadway
Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
Strong organizational, leadership and decision-making skills.
Effective communication skills.
OSHA 30 Hour required
Experience managing self-performed work.
Experience with Trimble Rover a Plus
Experience with HCSS Heavy Job a Plus
Experience running Trimble guided machines

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, kneel, climb, stoop and bend.
