A well-established construction and infrastructure company in Southern California is seeking a temporary experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to cover an absence.
The ideal candidate will bring strong certified payroll experience within the construction industry and a deep understanding of prevailing wage compliance, DIR reporting, and labor compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for DIR compliance
- Ensure compliance with all labor compliance and prevailing wage requirements
- Audit, review, and manage payroll reporting for accuracy and timeliness
- Partner with Project Managers to collect required project documentation
- Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain payroll compliance documentation
- Review contracts to ensure payroll reporting aligns with project requirements
- Respond to agency notices and provide requested supporting documentation
- Communicate with state and federal agencies regarding payroll compliance matters
- Stay current on federal and California payroll law updates
- Maintain organized documentation from project start through completion
Qualifications
- Recent hands-on experience managing certified payroll
- Construction industry experience required
- Strong knowledge of Davis-Bacon, DIR certified payroll, and prevailing wage compliance
- Experience with LCPTracker or similar labor compliance software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables
- Strong research, problem-solving, and compliance skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
