The bilingual communication specialist plays a critical role in ensuring transparent, engaging, and effective communication between English and Spanish speaking employees, the KCC Executive Board, and ESOP Committee. This role is responsible for reviewing and translating written communications, marketing materials, and providing real-time interpretation during meetings. This role is responsible for enhancing internal communication strategies between English and Spanish speakers to help strengthen employee engagement and cultural awareness.

This position reports directly to the Director of Communications and works closely with leadership, the ESOP committee, and various department representatives to ensure all projects and initiatives receive the necessary attention and support for successful implementation.

Essential Functions

Daily responsibilities and key functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Review, translate, and edit written communication, including employee memos, announcements, and marketing collateral, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
  • Supported leadership during employee meetings by interpreting real-time conversations and facilitating question-and-answer sessions.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between bilingual employees and management, supporting dialogue and problem-solving across cultural lines.
  • Collaborate and adapt materials for diverse audiences, increasing employee engagement and message effectiveness.
  • Assist in developing bilingual resources and communication strategies to support company-wide initiatives.
  • Travel between KCC facilities and shifts as needed to ensure communication efforts reach all employees.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of translated communication efforts, collecting feedback to improve future initiatives.
  • Proactively identify gaps in communication and recommend improvements to ensure messages are clearly translated, accessible, and effectively reaching all employees, including those in production roles.
  • Create and maintain communication channels that connect employees across multiple shifts, buildings and locations, ensuring all team members receive consistent and timely information.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to educate, inform, and engage employees effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be comfortable traveling between KCC buildings and shifts to execute communication initiatives effectively.
  • Skilled in content localization for culturally diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
