Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Journeyman/Journeywoman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various construction and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical work complies with all safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs
- Work on low voltage and high voltage systems safely in accordance with NEC standards and industry best practices
- Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects, ensuring seamless integration of electrical components within framing carpentry and other structural work
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems on construction sites to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Utilize schematics to diagnose electrical faults efficiently and implement effective solutions
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety inspections for project documentation
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical installations
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage wiring systems
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting electrical issues
- Knowledge of NEC regulations and compliance requirements for both high voltage and low voltage systems
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on renovation projects involving framing carpentry and maintenance person skills
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately and execute complex wiring tasks efficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and documenting work processes effectively
