Summary:
Oversees operations of a small manufacturing plant, ensuring efficient production processes. Ensures compliance with industry standards as well as plant-wide safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Identifies and leads continuous improvement projects. Focuses on driving production efficiency, ensuring product quality, maintaining safety standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Supervises operational teams, collaborates with cross-functional departments, and helps implement strategies to achieve operational excellence and meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and safety.
- Supervise and mentor various staff to ensure effective team performance.
- Support production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand, optimize resource utilization, and maintain on-time delivery.
- Support continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Monitor and analyze key production metrics such as yield, throughput, downtime, and quality indicators; prepare and submit daily and monthly operational reports.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize operational disruptions.
- Maintain compliance with all environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements; promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the plant.
- Assist in managing budgets, controlling operational costs, and supporting capital project implementation.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between departments including Quality Assurance, Engineering, Maintenance, and Logistics.
- Support training and development initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma training, to build employee capabilities and engagement.
- Participate in, and sometimes facilitate, leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning and operational decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within silicas, minerals, or chemical production environments.
- Proven leadership experience supervising teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting to executives and frontline staff.
- Experience with silicas manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma; certification preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in manufacturing software systems such as SAP, DCS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
