Staff Accountant

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a growing, well-established public accounting firm near Springfield, MA, in its search for a Staff Accountant. Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax regulations.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform audit, review, and other attest engagements in accordance with applicable professional standards.
• Prepare detailed workpapers supporting tax returns, financial statements, and audit engagements.
• Review financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with client accounting services, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Review tax returns and financial documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather financial information, resolve discrepancies, and address accounting questions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Recent public accounting experience required, preferably within audit or client accounting services.
• Approximately 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred; candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply.
• CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
• Exposure to individual and business tax preparation preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a willingness to support colleagues and clients.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a positive and supportive team environment.
  
  

Compensation is up to $90k DOE.
