Controller

KBW Financial Staffing and Recruiting has partnered with a growing, privately held company is looking for a hands-on Controller to join its leadership team and help build the next phase of its accounting function.

This is a great opportunity for a forward-thinking Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or early-career Controller who wants more ownership and the opportunity to build rather than step into a highly established department.

What We're Looking For

• 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong GAAP knowledge and full-cycle accounting experience
• QuickBooks Online experience
• Strong systems aptitude and interest in improving how accounting operates
• Process-oriented and comfortable identifying problems and building solutions
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations and financial reporting
• Comfortable working in a smaller, growing company where you'll need to roll up your sleeves
• CPA preferred but not required
  
  

The ideal candidate doesn't need to have every piece of the industry experience. We're more interested in someone who is smart, systems-oriented, curious and wants to build something.

Compensation

Competitive salary, plus BCBS of RI and a 401(k) with company match.

Hybrid: 3 days onsite
