Responsibilities For The Controller Position
- Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packages for internal stakeholders and external partners
- Oversee general ledger activity, including complex journal entries and account reconciliations
- Lead preparation efforts for financial audits and ensure supporting documentation is in place
- Supervise, coach, and develop a mid-sized accounting team across daily operations
- Manage tax filings and various compliance reporting requirements
- Maintain fixed asset records and ensure timely recognition of depreciation and disposals
- Support company-wide insurance documentation, reporting, and renewals
- Help implement accounting system updates and provide training to staff
- Partner with leadership on special projects and ad hoc reporting needs
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or equivalent credentials a plus but not required
- 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership roles within accounting or finance
- Solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit preparation
- Comfortable using ERP accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while staying detail-oriented and organized
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
