Our client is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, results driven Controller to join its Burlington, VT area finance team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will be a leader with the accounting team and have two direct reports. The Controller will oversee all US- based accounting functions, manage the month-end close process, and partner with various parts of the organization to drive strategic initiatives to enable growth.
The role will pay a competitive base salary up to $150k, plus bonus and offers great company benefits.

Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the accounting team, including month end close, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations.
- Design, enhance, and maintain strong internal controls and processes within accounting operations.
- Continuously review and enhance financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and systems to align with best practices and evolving business needs.
- Collaborate with various cross functional business partners on ad-hoc reporting and support requests.
- Provide the executive team with detailed reports for use in making business decisions and controlling expenditures.
- Serve as primary liaison with external auditors.
- Assist CFO with special projects when needed.
- Manufacturing or plant experience required.
- Consumer product experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- CPA preferred, not required.
- 4 years managing a team.
- Excellent understanding and knowledge of US GAAP.
- Proven analytical, problem solving, and planning and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
- A motivated self-starter who thrives when taking ownership of initiatives with limited oversight.
- Ability to consistently meet critical deadlines.
- QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Experience implementing an enterprise level ERP system preferred.
