KBW has partnered with a publicly traded organization seeking a Chief Accounting Officer to oversee accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls. Reporting directly to the CFO, this executive will lead a sizable accounting organization responsible for the monthly and annual close, technical accounting, external reporting, internal controls, and other strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee corporate accounting functions, including financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls
- Drive the continued enhancement of accounting processes, systems, and organizational capabilities
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting organization
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings
- Oversee technical accounting matters and maintain appropriate accounting policies and procedures
- Partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic and operational initiatives
- Support acquisitions, integrations, and other corporate initiatives as needed
- Maintain strong relationships with external auditors and other key stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of the finance organization
- 15 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant Controllership or VP-level leadership experience
- CPA required
- Strong public-company financial reporting, technical accounting, and internal controls experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing accounting organization
- Experience improving processes, systems, and organizational scalability
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience working in a complex, multinational organization preferred
