Accounting Consultant

We are partnering with a growing organization in the Brunswick, Maine area seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their team in a hybrid capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong month-end close experience, a solid understanding of general ledger accounting, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting activities
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances
• Support audit requests and assist with year-end audit preparation
• Partner with internal departments to improve accounting processes and workflows
• Assist with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet schedules
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP platforms
