Role Description
We are looking for a dynamic team player to manage all IT operations for 50 users across our Colorado headquarters and Texas operations hub. Candidate will be based in Northern Colorado, managing both local users and remote users in Texas. Successful candidate will optimize and maintain existing mid-level infrastructure at both locations, lead a major domain and SharePoint separation project, deploy new infrastructure as we expand, and ensure reliable technology across all operations.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Security (40%)
- Manage and optimize existing network infrastructure at Colorado and Texas locations
- Lead domain separation project - splitting our current integrated Active Directory environment into separate domains for each business unit
- Migrate and separate SharePoint environments for each business unit
- Manage Active Directory domain environment - user accounts, group policies, security policies, domain-joined devices across multi-state operations
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls - MFA, endpoint protection, patch management, backup/disaster recovery
- Deploy infrastructure at new Colorado location (coming soon)
- Design and implement conference room technology and customer-facing displays
- Plan and execute hardware refresh cycles
Operations (40%)
- Own day-to-day IT support for 50 users (majority remote in Texas, local users in Colorado)
- Prioritize primary business unit support while providing best-effort support to sister companies
- Manage M365 environment (users, licenses, security administration) across all business units
- Deploy and manage MDM for field tablets (growing importance)
- Monitor security threats and respond to incidents
- Vendor management and procurement
- After-hours support during critical periods (primarily harvest season)
Strategic Support (20%)
- Partner with our development team on infrastructure needs
- Evaluate and implement operational technologies
- Train teams on new systems and security best practices
- Optimize subscription spend and tool stack across all business units
- Document systems and processes
What You'll Support:
- Northern Colorado - Headquarters (your base, existing infrastructure)
- Texas Panhandle - Operations hub (majority of users, existing infrastructure)
- Additional Colorado Location - Sister company operations
- New Colorado Location (coming soon) - Requires infrastructure deployment
What You Need:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or associate degree plus 7 years relevant experience, or 10 years experience with professional certifications)
- 5 years IT infrastructure experience (networking, servers, enterprise environments)
- Active Directory domain administration and migration experience - user management, GPOs, domain restructuring, ideally domain migration/consolidation projects
- Experience managing remote/distributed IT operations - you've successfully supported users who aren't in your building
- Demonstrated cybersecurity competence - Security certification or equivalent hands-on experience with network security, endpoint protection, MFA implementation, and security incident response
- Strong networking skills - manage existing networks, troubleshoot connectivity, implement network security
- M365 administration including security features and SharePoint management/migration experience
- MDM platform experience (Jamf, Intune, or similar) - deploying and managing mobile devices remotely
- Experience supporting distributed/mobile workforces (construction, field services, transportation, retail, or similar)
- Multi-site management experience
- Project management skills - especially for complex migration projects
- Excellent communication and training skills for remote users
- Valid driver's license
- Comfortable with dynamic seasonal business cycles
Preferred:
- Security (CompTIA), Network , or Microsoft 365 Security Administrator certification
- Previous domain consolidation/separation project experience
- SharePoint tenant migration experience
- Basic scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience with AV systems and conference room technology
- Virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware)
- Backup and disaster recovery planning
- Agriculture, logistics, trucking, or industrial operations background
- Experience supporting multiple related companies with competing priorities
Travel Requirements:
- Travel 12 times per year (1x Monthly) initially (reducing to quarterly or semi-annually after infrastructure is optimized), includes overnight stays
- After-hours/weekend work occasionally required during peak harvest season
Work Environment:
- In-Person in Northern Colorado or Texas Panhandle with several users in remote locations
- Multi-state IT operations (Colorado and Texas)
- Support users across agricultural, logistics, and equipment operations
