You’ll oversee complex legal matters, enhance project delivery and profitability, and play a key role in building and growing the firm’s Legal Project Management function

Responsibilities for Senior Manager of Legal Project Management
- Lead the planning, execution, and management of complex legal matters by developing project plans, budgets, timelines, and communication strategies
- Partner with attorneys and clients to define matter scope, objectives, staffing needs, and key milestones while ensuring successful project delivery
- Manage budgets, legal spend tracking, alternative fee arrangements, and profitability analysis in collaboration with pricing and finance teams
- Monitor matter progress, identify risks or bottlenecks, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule and aligned with client expectations
- Supervise, mentor, and develop Legal Project Managers through coaching, performance management, workload balancing, and professional development
- Create and enhance project management templates, playbooks, workflows, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency across the firm
- Support the evaluation and implementation of legal technology solutions while providing training and change management initiatives for attorneys and staff
Qualifications for Senior Manager of Legal Project Management
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 6 years of legal project management, legal operations, or practice management experience within a law firm environment
- Prior experience managing or mentoring a team, including performance management and professional development responsibilities
- Demonstrated experience managing legal budgets, alternative fee arrangements (AFAs), financial reporting, and profitability analysis
- Strong knowledge of legal project management methodologies and experience handling complex, high-value matters
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal technology platforms, matter management systems, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build trusted relationships across all levels of the firm
Salary : $190,000 - $200,000
