Duties

• Manage daily classroom activities and ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate curricula that support childhood development milestones and foster social-emotional growth.
• Supervise and support teaching staff by providing training on classroom management, behavior management, and early childhood education best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, including first aid protocols and emergency procedures.
• Build strong relationships with families through regular communication, updates on child progress, and addressing individual needs or concerns.
• Oversee enrollment processes, maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental assessments, and licensing documentation.
• Coordinate professional development opportunities for staff to stay current on childcare trends such as special education techniques and working with children with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in early childhood education or childcare management with a focus on classroom experience or daycare operations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques.
• Certification in first aid and CPR; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are highly desirable.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, staff, and community partners.
• Experience working with infants through preschool-aged children; familiarity with toddler care and nannying or babysitting roles is a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in recordkeeping and compliance documentation.
