What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Project Manager (Electronics Sourcing) position at Kay Industries?
About the Role:
We are a growing, high-margin industrial power infrastructure corporation undergoing strategic expansion. We are seeking a highly organized, technically sharp Industrial Project Manager to spearhead the operational integration of a newly acquired industrial process instrumentation line.
This is not a traditional IT or software project management role. You will be the sole operational anchor responsible for executing an Intellectual Property (IP) carveout—systematically migrating proprietary PCB designs, firmware code, and technical blueprints from an outgoing family-owned legacy manufacturer into an optimized, high-efficiency outsourced Contract Electronics Manufacturing (CEM) network.
What You Will Do:
Lead the Technical Handover: Act as the primary internal contact managing the Transition Services Agreements (TSAs) with the outgoing founding engineers to safely ingest, catalog, and archive all PCB Gerber files, schematics, and microcontroller source code.Build the Outsourced Supply Chain: Vet, select, and negotiate volume-based pricing structures with Tier-1 Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs) to transition legacy manufacturing into a 100% variable-cost model.Ensure Flawless Quality Assurance: Partner with engineering leads to replicate factory floor test rigs, establish automated functional testing protocols at the new CEM plant, and maintain a ≥ 99.5% QA pass rate on initial production runs.Drive Commercial Portfolio Synergies: Work alongside our internal engineering teams to structurally integrate acquired control logic systems into our existing industrial electrical enclosure blueprints for turnkey product bundling.Manage Customer & Vendor Logistics: Oversee the clean migration of legacy customer CRM databases, distributor pricing matrices, and component Bills of Materials (BOMs) into our corporate ERP system.
What We Are Looking For:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline.Experience: 4–7 years of experience in industrial project management, technical sourcing, electronic hardware manufacturing, or corporate operations integration.
Technical Literacy:
Proven ability to read electrical schematics, evaluate PCB design files (Gerbers), manage detailed industrial BOMs, and understand microcontroller firmware flashing protocols.
Supply Chain Expertise:
Direct experience managing vendor relationships, auditing Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs), and negotiating component supply contracts.
Execution Mindset:
A sharp, analytical operations specialist who thrives on dismantling legacy workflows, eliminating fixed overhead, and hitting strict project timelines.
Benefits:
Competitive base salary with milestone-driven performance bonuses.
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
