We are actively seeking a Legal Assistant to work directly with our attorneys to prepare for upcoming cases and get involved in fact-finding projects.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials, hearings, and meetings
- Utilizes existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases
- Drafts discovery demands and responses, including, but not limited to, Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Notices for Discovery and Inspection and Requests for Admissions
- Processes deposition transcripts
- Prepares trial and arbitration hearing binders
- Assists with drafting documents such as: Motion to Strike, Motion for Continuances, Proposed Orders, Requests for Judicial Notice, Evidentiary Objections, etc
- Assists with e-filing in State, Federal and Appellate Courts and checks the Court’s local rules
- Prepares timelines and demonstrative exhibits
- Drafts routine legal correspondence
- Prepares first set of exhibits for motions, discovery responses, etc
- Reviews outgoing document production, including redacting and Bates stamping
- Creates Preservation of Evidence Letter and Document Request Letters
- Performs legal research through WestLaw
- Assisting with office administration tasks
- Reviews, summarize and analyze medical records to assist with defense of action
- Other duties, as needed, to support the firm and office operations
- Previous law firm experience (4 years)
- Litigation experience
- Exceptional organization skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
- Team oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
- Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion with limited guidance
