Finance Director

Katz Teller, a Cincinnati Law Firm, has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Finance Director. This individual is responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, and treasury functions. Prepares and analyzes financial data and management reports, and evaluates performance through revenue, profitability, and key business metrics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but are not limited to)

• Develop and manage the firm’s annual budget, year‑end profit projections, rate‑setting strategy, and long‑term financial planning
• Manage cash flow and working capital
• Deliver clear, timely financial reports to firm leadership
• Lead the Finance Committee, including preparation of monthly reports and facilitation of monthly meetings
• Participate in partner compensation prices as requested by firm governance committees
• Oversee financial and operational risk management initiatives
• Oversee accounting functions, including billing, collections, payroll, and trust/IOLTA compliance
• Ensure adherence to ethical, regulatory, and fiduciary requirements
• Identify and implement technological solutions to improve financial and operational efficiency
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as needed
• Support the firm’s upcoming accounting system conversion
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate would possess thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Financial Reporting, Law Firm Financial Structures, Budgeting, etc. Must possess excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills. A master’s degree in finance or a related field, and expertise in Microsoft Excel are strongly preferred.
