Position Summary

Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) is seeking a disciplined, tech-savvy Staff Accountant to manage the core transactional and reconciliation functions of our "Year of Restoration." Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for the precise execution of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations, with a specific focus on the unique requirements of Nonprofit Fund Accounting. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys "hunting for the penny" to ensure every donor dollar is accounted for with 100% accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable (AP) & Disbursement

• FullCycle AP: Manage the endtoend payable process, including vendor setup,
  
  

invoice coding, and obtaining proper approvals in alignment with KCM’s Internal

Controls Policy.

• Expense Allocation: Ensure every invoice is accurately allocated across program
  
  

services (Food Center, Social Services, etc.) and management/fundraising categories.

• Credit Card Reconciliation: Manage the monthly reconciliation of all corporate
  
  

credit cards, ensuring every charge has a digital receipt and a clear business purpose.

Accounts Receivable (AR) & Revenue Integration

• Revenue Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash, check, and digital donations.
  
  

Ensure the Development CRM (Raiser’s Edge) matches the General Ledger perfectly.

• Resale Store Integration: Oversee the daily financial data flow from Resale Store
• operations ($1.5M annual revenue), reconciling pointofsale reports with bank deposits.
• InKind Tracking: Record and track noncash donations (food, clothing) to ensure
  
  

accurate reporting of KCM’s community impact.

Payroll & Labor Allocation

• BiWeekly Payroll: Execute fullcycle payroll, ensuring accurate tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and 100% compliance with labor regulations.
• GrantLinked Labor: Precisely allocate labor costs to specific grants based on
  
  

staff time-and-effort reporting, a critical component for federal and state grant compliance.

Grant Administration

• Restricted Fund Tracking: Monitor the "ticking and tying" of restricted vs.
  
  

unrestricted funds, ensuring donor intent is honored and funds are only released when conditions are met.

• Reimbursement Prep: Assemble the supporting documentation (AP invoices and
  
  

Payroll records) required for monthly grant reimbursement requests and produce draft invoices for reimbursement to be reviewed and approved by Accounting

Manager.

Skills and Professional Requirements

• Technical Mastery: Mastery of GAAP and Fund Accounting (FASB ASC 958) is required.
• Technological Fluency: Expert proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
  
  

High-level Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs) are non-negotiable.

• Internal Controls: A deep understanding of the "separation of duties" and the discipline to follow KCM’s financial policies without exception.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 13 years of accounting experience is preferred but not required.
