Position Summary
Katie's Kids Learning Center is looking for a dependable, flexible, and energetic Support Staff team member to assist throughout our center. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Support Staff play an essential role by helping classrooms maintain ratios, providing teacher breaks, assisting with daily routines, and ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children.
Responsibilities
- Float between classrooms as needed to maintain required child-to-staff ratios.
- Provide coverage for teacher lunches, breaks, meetings, and planning time.
- Assist lead and assistant teachers with daily classroom activities.
- Supervise children while promoting a safe, nurturing, and positive environment.
- Help with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal care routines.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks as needed.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness by sanitizing toys, tables, and learning materials.
- Assist with nap time routines and classroom transitions.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning activities, and outdoor time.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow team members.
- Follow all DCFS licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and Katie's Kids policies.
- Complete all required trainings and maintain required certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operation of the center.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with children is preferred but not required.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Ability to obtain required DCFS trainings and certifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to adapt to changing daily needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move between classrooms for extended periods.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.50 per hour
