Duties
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Assess each pet’s health and behavior, alerting veterinary staff or pet owners to any concerns such as skin issues or unusual behavior
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and well-maintained
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with pet owners about grooming options, aftercare instructions, and pet health considerations
- Assist with pet handling tasks such as feeding, walking, or basic animal care when needed to support overall pet well-being
- Support team members with kennel duties or pet sitting responsibilities during busy periods or when additional animal handling is required
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet grooming is highly preferred; certification from a recognized grooming program is a plus
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work confidently with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience related to animal health is advantageous
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles enhances your ability to recognize health issues early
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for moving equipment or assisting larger dogs safely
