Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including behavioral health and hospice palliative medicine, compassionate and experienced in Wound Care. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and delivering comprehensive nursing services to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and mental health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including injections and botulinum toxin treatments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management, including health coaching.
- Perform triage duties in emergency situations, ensuring timely care for patients with varying degrees of urgency.
- Maintain adherence to established nursing standards and protocols while delivering care in a teaching hospital environment.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities by providing specialized care and advocacy.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide wound assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Apply wound care treatments including dressings, debridement, and negative pressure wound therapy (as appropriate).
- Monitor wound healing progress and document changes.
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care and prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with infection control practice
- Stay current with wound care best practices and advancements
- Maintain accurate records in the EMR system and follow regulatory standards.
- Participate in skin integrity programs and quality assurance initiatives.
- Assess, manage, and treat complex wounds with evidence-based practices
Experience
- Previous experience in behavioral health or hospice palliative medicine is preferred.
- Familiarity with pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) practices is a plus.
- Proven experience administering injections and performing triage duties effectively.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team are essential.
