About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Legal Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work. This role is integral to the day-to-day operations of the firm and the overall client experience. You will work closely with our attorneys to support case management, ensure deadlines are met without exception, and help maintain clear, timely communication with clients throughout their matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys in all phases of family law matters
- Draft, format, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and court documents
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings/mediations, and ensure all deadlines are calendared immediately
- Maintain organized digital files; ensure all documents are saved to the client file promptly
- Track and manage court deadlines, including strict compliance with local rules and filing requirements
- Assist with client intake, communication, and case updates
- Prepare and organize exhibits, discovery materials, and trial binders
- Coordinate e-filing, service of process, and court-related logistics, with primary focus on matters in King and Snohomish Counties, and familiarity with Washington State court processes
- Handle mail, scanning, and general office support
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal support role (family law experience preferred but not required)
- Strong writing, editing, and document‑formatting skills
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow‑through
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities for multiple attorneys
- Professional communication skills with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
- Comfort with technology, including case management systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in our Bellevue office at least 3 days per week
- Availability during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
