About The Role
We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Director of Virtualization to lead our virtualization and cloud infrastructure strategy. This role will oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and high-performance virtualization platforms including OpenStack, VMware, and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for innovation in cloud-native and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the virtualization and containerization roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the deployment and optimization of virtualization platforms.
- Drive innovation in cloud infrastructure, automation, and orchestration.
- Technical Oversight:
- Architect and manage large-scale OpenStack, VMware vSphere/ESXi, and Kubernetes environments.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning of virtualized workloads.
- Oversee infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks.
- Operational Excellence:
- Establish and enforce best practices for security, compliance, and monitoring.
- Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and budget planning for virtualization technologies.
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues.
- Team Development:
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and architects.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure with 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in:
- OpenStack (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Horizon)
- VMware (vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vSAN)
- Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE, or self-managed clusters)
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and storage technologies.
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Helm) and scripting (Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Certifications: VCP, CKAD/CKA, OpenStack Certified Administrator.
- Experience with hybrid cloud and edge computing architectures.
- Background in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
