This role is responsible for supervising daily operations, coordinating manpower and equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high-quality work on schedule and within budget.

This is a full-time, union position located in the area of Stow, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of heavy highway construction crews
- Plan and execute work involving earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, drainage, and roadway construction
- Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and schedules
- Assign tasks, manage crew productivity, and monitor quality of work
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and inspectors
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, company safety policies, and job site safety plans
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
- Schedule and manage equipment, tools, and materials efficiently
- Monitor job progress and report production, issues, and needs to management
- Maintain accurate daily reports, time cards, and job documentation
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of heavy highway or civil construction experience, including supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of highway construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and grading plans
- Proven leadership and crew management skills
- Strong understanding of job site safety requirements
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, but not required)
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- First Aid / CPR
- DOT or state highway construction certifications
- Equipment operation certifications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work extended hours as required by project schedules
- Comfortable working in active construction environments
