Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership
- Leading a crew of utility workers, assigning tasks, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
- Project Management
- Planning daily work schedules, coordinating with project managers and other teams, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
- Technical Expertise
- Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm systems
- Safety Management
- Enforcing safety regulations, conducting daily job site inspections, and ensuring a safe working environment for the crew
- Equipment Operation
- Operating various types of heavy equipment, such as trenchers, backhoes, and other machinery used in utility construction
- Record Keeping
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent by the crew
- Experience
- Significant experience in construction, particularly in utility work, is essential
- Leadership
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
- Technical Knowledge
- Problem solve and resolve issues that may arise during construction
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Safety Certifications
