What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Administrator position at Karman Space & Defense?
SUMMARY:
Without the strength of our Quality team, we would not be able to offer the industry-leading service we’re known for. We’re seeking an experienced Quality Admin Professional. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as a Quality Admin.
As a strong communicator and skilled hands-on Quality Admin, you will support various departments in the following areas: Review and manage data Quality Data Packages. Perform supplier surveys in conjunction with purchasing. Review and perform tasks related to the Karman training program. Review, record, and maintain the quality records within quality administration. The QA must be able to explain the respective role within the QMS and how their role contributes to quality (Ref. Quality Procedures). The QA shall contribute to product conformity as apart to their daily job function and shall contribute to product safety (Ref. job travelers and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program Handbook). The QA shall also be aware of ethical behavior and conduct themselves accordingly to Karman policies and procedures.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work within the Quality Department in the oversite of NCR/ ASL and Training Logs and control.
- Interact and support customer inspection (Source).
- Review and understand Karman quality requirements on approved supplier eligibility.
- Support production schedule activities including requested overtime needs with availability.
- Work directly with the Karman Quality Manager on a daily basis and provide support as needed.
- Support Karman training activities with records and matrix control.
- Support Karman MRT actives with records and matrix control.
- Support Karman purchasing activities with records and ASL control.
- Support new hire activities.
- Be a good team player both within the quality department and jointly with production. Able to support the needs of the entire QMS.
- Provide Document control backup as needed.
- To use the procedures and tools within the AS 9100 QMS to the intent of the standard and to the intent of Karman fabricating.
- Must understand how customer products are impacted in the event of failure of data administration.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be detail oriented, extremely organized, must possess excellent communication skills, and be able to interact well with all levels of Management.
- Must possess excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of word, spreadsheets and databases.
- Act as a leader within the quality department exemplifying good work ethic and morals that are within the KARMAN company expectations and culture.
- Must have direct communication with internal customers.
- Must be trained of applicable changes & customer requirements.
- Must know the QMS basic system of reporting, record keeping and follow instructions.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Adequate years of experience in inspection using quality techniques determined by KARMAN.
- Two (2) years college or related technical training.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This position operates in a professional office environment.
- This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- No travel is required for this position.
