Manufacturing Foreman - Coating and Slitting

Kanzaki Specialty Papers, located in Ware, MA, is a world leader in specialty coated materials and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oji Holdings Co., Ltd., one of the largest paper companies in the world. Kanzaki is looking for a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Foreman to join our team.

The Manufacturing Foreman will oversee and coordinate the operation of our #20 Coating and Slitting machines during an assigned shift. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for directing production employees, supporting equipment operations, maintaining product quality, and ensuring work is performed safely and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the operation of coating and slitting equipment.
• Assign work and provide direction and supervision to production employees throughout the shift.
• Monitor production activities to ensure quality standards and operating requirements are met.
• Ensure compliance with KSP safety, personnel, and operating policies and procedures.
• Complete and maintain required production records.
• Assist with machine operation, adjustments, loading and unloading of paper, and other production-related activities as needed.
• Promote a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
• Address production and personnel issues that arise during the assigned shift.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience, preferably in a production or machine-operating environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and direct production employees.
• Strong visual attention to machine operations, controls, and the physical properties and quality of finished product.
• Manual coordination and dexterity necessary to operate machinery and controls and make equipment adjustments.
• Ability to walk and work around production machinery and climb stairs throughout the shift.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to consistently enforce safety and personnel policies.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and management across shifts and departments.

Work Schedule

This position is performed on a 12-hour shift schedule. The successful candidate must be able to rotate between day and night shifts as needed (mainly nights to start after trained) and be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
