RN - PRN Pre-Op/PACU (ASC)

PRN Registered Nurse needed for our orthopaedic ambulatory surgery center to work in pre and post-op areas. Availability to work hours between 7am - 5pm, for 8-24 hours per week, weekdays only. We are looking for a 2-3 day per week commitment. Excellent environment with low RN to patient ratio. No weekends, no holidays, and no call! SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Perform age-specific assessment and intervention for surgical patient during pre-operative and post-operative phase and provide post-operative/discharge instruction prior to discharge. Implement emergency procedures as necessary. Maintain accurate and complete medical records and controlled substances logs. Initiate physicians orders. Assist with anesthesia procedures in pre-op. Maintains compliance with OSHA standards for healthcare facilities. Participate in educational opportunities for professional growth and development. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Graduate of accredited school of nursing 1 year general nursing experience, orthopaedics helpful 1 year experience PARU nursing or ICU experience Experience with IV starts helpful Excellent communication skills BCLS certified
