State Park Manager Supervisor I

Beginning Salary: $32.78/hour
This position is located in Iola, Kansas and is supervised by the area Parks Regional Supervisor. This position is accepting applications until April 17, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision and coordination of staff to operate Lehigh Portland State Park
- Prepares budget requests and purchases supplies and equipment
- Directs the sale of department permits and licenses, including the collection and accounting of funds received
- Plans and oversees contracted work and supervises and coordinates construction projects
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, equipment, roads, ditches, dikes, shelters, beaches, boat ramps, and utilities
- Participates in interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating employees
- Enforces laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the protection of park facilities and visitors
- Provides information regarding park rules, facilities, and area history

- If the selected applicant is not currently law enforcement certified, the agency will provide required training

Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age
- Management experience and broad-based interaction with community organizations preferred
- Ability to effectively interface with employees and the general public
- Must pass a background check, be a credible witness in court, and possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Necessary Special Requirements:
- Must be certified as a law enforcement officer by the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Commission
- Must complete required law enforcement training and maintain certification
- Must be eligible to carry a firearm and meet all legal eligibility requirements
- Must pass a drug screening, physical exam, psychological evaluation, and polygraph for admission to the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center
Salary : $33
