Beginning Salary: $32.50/hour
This position is located in Pratt, Kansas and is supervised by the Parks Assistant Director of Administration. This position is accepting applications until August 4, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and Recreational Trails Program (RTP) in accordance with federal and state requirements.
- Coordinate grant solicitations, application reviews, awards, reimbursements, reporting, and project monitoring.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to grant applicants, project sponsors, and partner agencies.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including long-term stewardship and monitoring of LWCF-assisted properties.
- Coordinate development and updates to the Kansas Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP).
- Administer and support additional federal grant programs as assigned, including compliance, reimbursement, and reporting activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison with federal, state, local, and nonprofit partners and represent the Department at meetings, trainings, and conferences.
- Maintain grant records and working knowledge of the Outdoor Recreation Management System (ORMS) while providing operational support for state park reservation, permit, and sales functions as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Three years of experience in grant administration or examining financial records. Education may be substituted for experience as deemed relevant by the agency.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or training in grant administration is preferred, experience in natural resources, parks and recreation or closely related field is highly preferred. Individuals with excellent communication skills, knowledge of accounting and grant reporting principles and requirements, ability to facilitate successful team outcomes would be a good fit.
