KDHE is comprised of three divisions: Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State’s Medicaid program, KanCare). Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary: Position (K0236799)
KORA Coordinator: Bureau of Environmental Remediation KORA internal: Serve as the primary contact for all Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) requests for Bureau of Environmental Remediation information. Respond to requestors, tracks requests on spreadsheet, work with Bureau of Environmental Remediation staff to ensure all requests are filled in a timely manner according to Bureau of Environmental Remediation KORA Guidance. Help research requests when program staff do not have time.
Accounts Payable: Administer, develop, implement, and coordinate purchase orders, vouchers, bills and other information for various programs in order to approve requested merchandise and services in accordance with guidelines concerning appropriation limits, federal law, statutory requirements on state fee funds and policies set forth by Accounting Services.Oversees bureau invoice payments based on approved purchase requests.Determine availability of funds from appropriate funding sources.Assist bureau fiscal officer and Program management in preparation of the annual budget and related reports.Coordinate with others within BER for shared funding resources and grant tracking requirements process; however, EPA does review and comment on some of these permits, in addition to auditing the Bureau of Air's permit program. During the permit concurrence process, work is reviewed by supervisor and section chief for compliance with Kansas Air Quality Act, related regulations and federal Clean Air Act requirements.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
KORA Coordinator: OUTSIDE VENDOR KORA PROCESSING – Coordinate processing of large-scale external vendor scanning projects.Log each accordion file to be scanned, prepare files for transport and label boxes according to log for vendor to pick up. Verify all returned files previously logged were returned and electronic copy matches the hard copies that were processed. Save and link scanned electronic documents into the Perceptive Content system and return files to the file room.IN-HOUSE KORAs - Scan and link material requested through the Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) into the electronic Perceptive Content file system. Save as PDFs, label and sort into electronic file folders, send to requestor. Organize all hard-copy documents and return them to the file room.
Supplies and Equipment Inventory Administrator: Oversees, orders and tracks IT purchase orders. Oversee the stock and ordering of office supplies.Administers a bureau inventory system including designing and maintaining records database, overseeing checkout of equipment, overseeing office equipment maintenance, space layout, and reference material maintenance.Coordinate the disposal of surplus equipment through proper State procedures.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School, GED
- Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Six months of experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring activities and financial accounting relevant to the agency's programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

- Business or Accounting Degree preferred
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
- Proofreading, editing, attention to detail.
- Image Scanning
- Paper & Electronic Filing knowledge
- Positive interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and coordinate with others
