Summary

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) is a U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) facility managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T). Our primary business is to manufacture sophisticated mechanical, electronic, and engineered-material components for our nation's defense system. Our goal is to seek innovative solutions that surpass our customers' expectations; to accomplish this, we research, develop, and deploy some of the most advanced design and manufacturing technologies in use in the United States today.

This position is seeking candidates from universities involved in one or more of these programs: NNSA’s Minorities Serving Institutes Partnership Program (MSIPP), a KCNSC Master Collaboration Agreement (MCA) university, or a KCNSC R&D consortium partner. MSIPP’s goal is to increase participation of women and minorities in NNSA’s nuclear security enterprise and across the nation in STEM disciplines, developing individuals, building core competencies for NNSA, and improving institutional capacity in Minority Serving Institutions. The MCA program seeks to facilitate research and development relevant to KCNSC mission through plant-directed research and development and other low-technology-maturity programs. The consortium model supports multi-institution collaborative efforts in a broader topic of interest to KCNSC.

  • Draft reports, and prepare and deliver presentations on research results, as needed, to communicate progress and meet project milestones, and
  • Expand the existing project team knowledge base.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
