Position Description
Instructional Lab & Student Support
- Collaborate with program instructors to coordinate daily lab activities and ensure proper lab setup and cleanup.
- Provide technical guidance in cosmetology-related tasks including esthetics, hair cutting, coloring, and related services.
- Observe, document, and report student performance of assigned tasks.
- Supervise students in classroom, lab, and off-site environments.
- Enforce safety practices and ensure compliance with required pollution prevention procedures.
- Maintain control and accountability of program tools, equipment, and materials.
- Monitor equipment condition and coordinate repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with ordering supplies in collaboration with faculty.
- Enforce all institutional rules, regulations, and external compliance requirements.
- Assist with organizing cosmetology program projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Transport students for field trips and program-related activities in accordance with college policies.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact by greeting and directing students, faculty, guests, and visitors.
- Answer and route phone calls; provide accurate program and college information.
- Schedule client service appointments for cosmetology services.
- Receive, record, and process customer payments; balance cash drawer and prepare deposits.
- Perform clerical duties including filing, copying, faxing, and data entry.
- Coordinate receipt and distribution of mail and packages.
- Order, receive, stock, and distribute office and cosmetology supplies.
- Maintain departmental records, purchase tracking, and supply documentation.
- Provide general administrative support to the Associate Dean and program faculty.
- Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and operational priorities effectively.
- Other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Cosmetology License.
- Kansas Cosmetology Instructor License.
- Minimum of three (3) years of cosmetology industry experience or closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in office management, administrative coordination, or similar functions.
- Relevant industry credentials.
- Associate degree or higher in Cosmetology or a closely related field.
- Four (4) or more years of cosmetology or related industry experience.
- Training or instructional experience.
- Experience in customer service and front-desk operations.
- Experience with learner-centered pedagogy.
