Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Instrumentation and Electrical or Lead Control Technician perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, clean, test and calibrate electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems. *
- Maintain and troubleshoot closed circuit television systems, data loggers, panel alarms, PLC, DCS and Sequence of Event recorders. *
- Must be able to repair and calibrate pressure, vacuum and differential gauges. *
- Repair and calibrate temperature, pressure, flow and O2 Analyzers. *
- Assist on performance and acceptance tests on new and existing equipment. *
- Operate Mobile Crane, Forklift, and Yard Truck. *
- Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.
- Denotes essential functions of position.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Formal electronics or instrumentation training with a minimum of two 2 year of related work experience.
- Journeyman Control Technician A experience in a power plant.
- Five 5 years of equivalent experience in a comparable industrial environment.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in the instrumentation field.
- Completion of an electronics technical program is preferred, including industry credentials such as ISA Certification.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and proficiency in analog and digital controls, microprocessors, programmable logic controllers and DCS.
- Ability to use all types of test equipment necessary to diagnose electronic and control equipment performance problems.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, regular days or other shifts as needed.
- Consistently uses required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows safe work practices in accordance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Technical ability to analyze, repair and calibrate complex electrical and mechanical control systems.
- Skilled in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to train and qualify to operate a mobile crane, forklift and yard truck during the probation period. Once qualified must have the ability to retain qualification.
