Full-Time | Leadership Opportunity in Early Childhood Education
Kangaroo Clubhouse is growing, and we are looking for a motivated, reliable, and positive Leader
to help support our Infant, Toddler, or Preschool program. This is a leadership role added on top of your primary classroom position, designed for individuals who love mentoring others, creating a collaborative environment, and upholding high-quality care and professionalism.
About the Role
As an Assistant
Director, you are the “go-to” support person when the Director is out of the building and an everyday leader for your team. You will help maintain smooth daily operations, encourage a positive team culture, and model our Core Values and child-centered philosophy.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is:
- Growth-oriented, professional, and passionate about early childhood education.
- Comfortable stepping into any role in the center— Teaching in the classroom, cooking,cleaning or administrative tasks.
- Able to support team members with patience, positivity, and accountability.
- Willing to be flexible with scheduling when staffing needs arise, willing to open or close the center as needed.
- Actively building their ECE knowledge (Idaho STARS, formal schooling, approved training, etc.).
- Loves nurturing a Play & Faith based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Lead duties may include (and are subject to change):
- Assist staff with questions and communicate follow-ups to the Director as needed
- Point checks and student check-in/out
- Ensure breaks and daily schedules run smoothly
- Stocking and center supply checks
- Cover for the Director when they are out of the building
- Guide center tours for prospective families
- Help plan weekly staffing schedules (as needed)
- Answer parent questions professionally and accurately
- Maintain and uphold all center rules, policies, and safety standards
- Conduct building checks to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Hold team members accountable to expectations
- Step into classrooms or support staff shortages when needed (early, late, or between shifts)
Qualifications
- Experience in early childhood education preferred
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, positive, and flexible work ethic
- Ability to step into various roles throughout the center
- Must meet Idaho child care licensing requirements (background check, training, etc.)
