What are the responsibilities and job description for the In Home Caregiver position at KANDU Industries, Inc?
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient In-Home Caregiver to support individuals with physical disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, or other forms of dementia. The caregiver will assist with daily living activities, ensure client safety, and promote a dignified, enriched quality of life in the comfort of the client’s home.
Position is Part Time approximately 10-15 hours per week, may expand to more hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other hygiene needs
- Medication Assistance: Remind or assist with prescribed medication schedules
- Mobility Support: Help with transfers (bed, chair, toilet), walking, and use of mobility aids
- Companionship: Provide emotional support, conversation, and engagement in recreational or memory-stimulating activities
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences
- Light Housekeeping: Perform routine housekeeping such as laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean, safe living environment
- Monitoring & Reporting: Observe changes in behavior or physical condition and report concerns to family members or healthcare providers
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, or social activities (if applicable)
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous caregiving experience (1 years preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for job duties)
- Compassionate and respectful toward individuals with disabilities and cognitive impairments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, reliability, and a calm demeanor under pressure
- Ability to follow care plans and adapt to changing client needs
- Understanding of Alzheimer’s/dementia progression and behavioral symptoms
Work Environment:
- Client’s private home or residence
- May involve lifting, bending, or transferring clients
- Potential exposure to household pets, cleaning supplies, and bodily fluids
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 15.0 per week
