Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Front Office Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft.
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and verification procedures
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including data entry and documentation review
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
- Collect payments and verify insurance
- Confirm dental appointments
- Phone calls to make recall appointments
- Maintain accurate dental records and update patient information
- Assist with intake procedures and patient registration
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Support office management tasks such as filing, faxing, and maintaining medical records
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental or medical front office environment; dental clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, and health information management
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (including 10 key typing)
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities
- Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and health information privacy regulations
- Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks
- Office management experience including scheduling, intake processing, and administrative support
