Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and deliver mail and packages along assigned rural routes using various vehicle types.
- Load and organize delivery vehicles to optimize route efficiency while ensuring safety during transit
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving of parcels, including handling bulky or heavy items.
- Verify recipient information, obtain signatures when required, and provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns professionally
- Route driving involves planning the most efficient delivery sequence to maximize productivity while maintaining accuracy
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with safety standards throughout the shift
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving or courier services, especially within rural or challenging environments
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and courteously with recipients
- Physical strength for heavy lifting, moving parcels, and loading/unloading cargo efficiently
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of route planning, load & unload procedures, and safety protocols ensures smooth daily operations
