What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmer position at KAMET Precision Machining & Assembly?
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Inspect and assess product quality through the use of CMM (Calypso) and other NDT inspection tools. Collaborate with team members for the resolution of discrepancies. Follow up on special requests to support customer or audit needs. Perform duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Using CMM to program complex features, utilizing datums.
Using CMM to program from a 3D model, extract.
Perform some engineering functions such as capability studies, gage R&R, etc., together with QEs.
Assist with defining inspection methods and standards for the team.
Accurately measure features and characteristics of components against drawing requirements.
Perform detailed First Article inspections of complex prototype and production parts.
Verify Certs and incoming data from outside vendors.
Generate data and fill out forms to support lot processing.
Input data electronically on a computer or manually hand written charts.
Maintain inspection tools, identify calibration needs, and perform daily 5S.
Manage calibration program for all inspection tools.
Collaborate with Manufacturing on the measurement technique.
Train Operators and other Inspectors, as required.
Participate in investigations of issues and improvement activities.
Follow internal safety, quality system, and procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Primarily collaborates with manufacturing, customer service, and shipping functions.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· MUST: High School Diploma. Prefer college/vocational level technical education.
· MUST: Minimum 5 years of professional machining and CMM programming experience, preferably with aerospace, auto, or semiconductor industries.
· MUST: GD&T proficient. Demonstrated hard check inspection (pin gages, height gages, calipers, micrometer, comparator, surface plate inspection, gage block, etc.), print reading, and shop math.
· MUST: Immediate working knowledge of computers, Excel, Word, Internet browsers, etc.
· Practice logical thinking to solve problems.
· Possesses professional and effective English language skills (verbal, written, and listening).
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.
· Well organized, detail-oriented, passionate, and committed to completing projects, large or small.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 20/20 Correctible Vision. Able to lift 50 lbs., use assists as needed.
