Role Description The Family Law Attorney will handle a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, and related issues, from intake through resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, advising on legal strategy, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and preparing cases for hearings and trials. The attorney will appear in court and at mediation, negotiate settlements, and manage case timelines and documentation. Collaboration with firm staff on case management, client communication, and workflow efficiency is expected. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and experience addressing a wide range of Legal Issues relevant to family practice.
- Focused expertise in Family Law, including divorce, custody, support, and related proceedings.
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions in family court and other related forums.
- Experience conducting Depositions and engaging in discovery and case preparation.
- Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the state bar.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with attention to detail and clear communication.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and maintain organized, accurate files.
- Demonstrated client-centered approach, professionalism, and ethical judgment.
- Prior experience in family law litigation or clerkship in a family law setting preferred.
