KALLE USA is part of a global organization headquartered in Germany and has been a market leader in the production of casings for the meat processing industry since 1863. Currently we are seeking a Process Engineer for our production facility in Gurnee IL. The Process Improvement Technician role will support the production and maintenance departments, to aid production and continuous improvement projects, related to both machines and processes.As a Process Improvement Technician, you will analyze and optimize manufacturing and industrial processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This includes process designing, troubleshooting, process optimization, process analysis, process documentation. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement process improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of our organization.Primary Functions:Assisting in developing, analyzing, optimizing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality and safety.Identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste and increase efficiency.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new processes, technologies and equipment.Monitoring and analyzing process data, using machine monitoring software. Identifying trends and proposing solutions for process improvements.Performing process capability studies, statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets.Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements in all process engineering activities.Spend 75-80% of time on the production floor, working with operators and other departments to develop and implement process solutions. Responsibilities: Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending appropriate solutions.Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time and improve product quality.Collaborate with engineering, production and quality assurance teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, such as cycle time, yield and scrap rate and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.Identify and implement process control measures, including statistical process control (SPC) techniques, to ensure consistent quality and reduce process variation.Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).Lead process validation activities, including protocol development, execution and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Participate in cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures.Provide training and guidance to production teams on new processes, procedures and equipment to ensure successful implementation and operation.Qualifications: Minimum Experience: two (2) years working experience in production working with processing, item setup, and production improvement.Communication skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and public. Ability to explain information in a clear and impartial manner. Ability to speak, read and write a second language, desired, (English/Spanish).Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate to do basic mathematics, i.e. add, subtract, multiply and divide; Ability to perform basic statistical calculation using software. Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; familiarity with Quality Assurance software programs, a plus. Ability to input data in databases and spreadsheets. Working knowledge of quality principles and practices; knowledge of general OSHA, GMP and Food Safety requirements.Ability to pay attention to the detail.Work approaches: Routinely interacts with employees within own department; routinely interacts with others in the organization.Monday Through Friday from 8am - 4:30pm

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
