Summary of Functions

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the hotel guest floors and rooms in accordance with Northern Quest Resort and Casino policies and procedures. Works to ensure all guest needs are properly handled in a friendly and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians- Internal Controls and Northern Quest Resort and Casino Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain AAA Four-Diamond and Kalispel Hospitality service standards in all interactions.
  • Maintains a positive upbeat attitude, being highly “in tune” to guest questions and needs. Works to ensure that guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints are properly handled. Anticipates the guest’s needs.
  • Clear and strip guest rooms of all linen and garbage after guest departure.
  • Delivers linens, supplies, and amenities to restock housekeeping carts.
  • Delivers items and amenities to guest rooms.
  • Assist with daily housekeeping/stayover service.
  • Assist with phone coverage for guest requests.
  • Transport linen bins to and from laundry drop-off/pick up points.
  • Clean and maintain hotel guestrooms, suites, and floors in accordance with Four-Diamond and Kalispel Hospitality hotel service standards, policies, and procedures.
Take care of equipment and supplies issued in conjunction with cleaning activity. Immediately report all damages, missing items, items not working, and items found in guestrooms, suites, and guest corridors.Responsible for passkey issued daily, making sure it is secured at all times. Keep work cart in a clean, dry, and organized manner.Use only those cleaning agents and products issued by the housekeeping department.
  • Provide anticipatory service in a thoughtful and intuitive way, notating special requests made by guests.
  • Exhibit a genuine sense of interest and concern for the guest.
  • Presents a friendly, professional non-rushed approach.
  • Provide exceptional service to customers and employees when performing job duties.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional and businesslike manner to reflect Northern Quest’s high standard of excellence.
  • Works as a team with other associates to maintain the highest service standards available.
  • Use proper interpersonal skills when engaging with customers and employees.
  • Share information with other departments to facilitate their successful performance.
  • Ensure guest confidentiality standards are followed.
  • Have knowledge of all hotel emergency procedures.
  • Comply with hotel safety and loss control procedures.
  • Ensure control/protection of company assets.
  • Responsible for maintaining regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain Four-Diamond service standards.
  • Fulfill any reasonable work requested by a manager or supervisor, completing accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Fill in for any duties in the hotel as needed, including but not limited to the following: House Attendant, Carpet & Upholstery cleaner, RV Cottage Attendant, and RV Site & Setup Attendant.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.
  • May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Experience

  • Three to six months experience and or/training preferred.
  • Experience in a Four-Diamond hotel preferred.
Skills

  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and other computer software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with department head and employees.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Other Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Kalispel Tribal Gaming License.
  • Hepatitis A & B shots.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing over 100 pounds.
  • Requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands, fingers, shoulders and back.
  • Requires repetitive movement of the back, shoulders, arms, wrist, hands and / or fingers.
  • Requires walking and / or standing for sustained periods of time.
  • Requires ascending or descending stairs or ramps using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Requires raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally.
  • Requires stooping, crouching and / or kneeling which involves the use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Requires working in damp, dusty and dirty areas.
  • Must clean up human biohazard and / or body fluids as required.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
