Summary of Functions

Provides exceptional food and beverage service by creating a welcoming dining experience for guests while accurately taking orders, serving food and beverages, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. Delivers Kalispel Hospitality by anticipating guest needs, providing attentive service, and ensuring a positive dining experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Guest Service & Hospitality

  • Ensures compliance with Kalispel Tribe of Indians Internal Controls and Kalispel Hospitality policies and procedures.
  • Greet guests promptly and professionally while providing attentive, friendly, and personalized service.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Educates guests on menu offerings, daily specials, and promotions.
  • Provides recommendations, including wine pairings and beverage selections, to enhance the guest experience.
  • Responds promptly to guest questions, concerns, and special requests, escalating issues to leadership when appropriate.
  • Delivers food and beverages in accordance with established service standards.
  • Creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel valued and appreciated.

Food & Beverage Service

  • Operates the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
  • Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Monitors guest needs throughout the dining experience and replenish beverages as needed.
  • Presents guest checks, processes payments, and provides accurate change.
  • Maintains confidentiality and accuracy of tip reporting and daily cash handling procedures.

Restaurant Operations

  • Maintains assigned stations and dining sections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness for service.
  • Clears, cleans, and resets tables in a timely manner.
  • Maintains clean, stocked, and organized server stations.
  • Completes assigned side work and end-of-shift responsibilities.
  • Accurately completes required paperwork and closing procedures.
  • Assists fellow team members to ensure efficient restaurant operations and exceptional guest service.
  • Participates in required meetings and training sessions.
  • Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Team Responsibilities

  • Maintains consistent, regular attendance.
  • Works varying schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and additional hours as required by business needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


 

Education

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

  • Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Basic knowledge of wine and food pairing principles.
  • Ability to learn and operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash and process guest payments.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with guests and team members.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve guest concerns under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Other Requirements

 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Valid Washington State Food Worker Card.
  • Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) certification.
  • Payment Card Industry (PCI) Training.
  • Hepatitis A vaccination.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required by business needs.
  • Ability to maintain consistent, regular attendance.

  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 65 pounds.
  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle trays, tableware, and restaurant equipment.
  • Frequently communicate verbally with guests and team members.
  • Occasionally climb stairs or ramps.
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift from floor level.
  • Frequently carry food, beverages, and service items throughout the restaurant.
  • Possess close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

 

  • Primarily works in a restaurant and dining room environment.
  • Frequently exposed to food service equipment, spills, and wet floors.
  • Occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and varying indoor and outdoor temperatures.
  • Moderate to high noise levels are typical during restaurant operations.

Travel Requirements

No regular travel is required for this position.
