GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to enforce the court's orders regarding child support, especially regarding the enforcement of medical support for minor children. Supports the Medical Enforcement Officer, Interstate Enforcement Officer, and others as needed regarding medical enforcement. Responds to written and verbal inquiries regarding procedures, case-specific medical information, and related issues from clients, employers, attorneys, and agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generates written communication to clients or employers to obtain medical insurance information; processes insurance cards, Explanation of Benefits, and informational letters; responds to emails from clients, employers, and other Friend of the Court personnel regarding medical enforcement.
- Receives telephone calls from clients, employers, other Friend of the Court employees, attorneys and others as needed; interprets court orders and communicates court expectations to the client.
- Interprets and communicates Income Withholding documents, National Medical Support Notice responsibilities, and the nature of the Qualified Medical Child Support Order to employers and clients.
- Generates Notice Regarding Healthcare Coverage or Insurance Obligation Termination Letter as needed; processes enforcement chains through Enforcement Processor as needed.
- Updates system with case notes; drafts correspondence to clients, employers, or others as needed.
- Follows up on the enforcement of requests for cards or insurance information from clients or employers; prepares reports as requested.
- Perform related work as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
- 1 to 3 years of related work experience in medical enforcement and accounting
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
