What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ticket Taker position at Kalama School District 402?

Season begin date: September 2026
Season end date: Approximately May 2027
RATE OF PAY: $18.88 - 21.52/hour (DOE)
HOURS: Approximately 200 hours/year (includes about 70 extra-curricular events throughout the year)
Total weekly hours may not exceed 40 hours per week.
Location: Kalama Middle/High Gym and Stadium
Benefits: This position is not eligible for health or retirement benefits
Reports to: Athletic Director
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The applicant will be responsible for greeting guests courteously and professionally
- Arrive approximately one hour before the event start time
- Ensure all tickets are valid and correspond to the correct date and event
- Protect ticket integrity
- Ability to accurately reconcile cash transactions & use electronic card readers
- Professionally collaborate with all event staff
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently during high-volume situations
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must pass a State and Federal background check
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
- Ability to communicate respectfully to administration, staff, students and parents.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Skills in reading, understanding and following safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with students and staff.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of District requirements and Board policies
- Ability to work independently and to communicate proactively
