Position Title: Head Middle School Track Coach
Season begin date: March 2026
Season end date: May 2026
Salary: $2,586.00 - $3,000.00 DOE
Reports to: Athletic Director
Location: Kalama Middle School, Kalama, WA
This position is not eligible for retirement or health benefits
Essential Functions
- Provides instruction to students in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport
- Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises
- Assesses students\' skills, monitors students during competition and practice
- Implement and maintain team rules/guidelines for consistent compliance of discipline.
- Conduct and supervise all practices
- Ongoing and regular communication with student athletes and parents regarding the program vision, philosophy, schedule, and all important program information.
- Supervise student athletes before, during, and after practices and games
- Partner with the athletic director to provide an excellent and meaningful student athlete experience.
- Follow established procedures in the event of an injury
- Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards students, officials and spectators
- Maintain a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times
- Participate in special activities to include parent\'s night, banquets and award nights
- Perform support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records
- Model non discriminatory practices in all activities
- Must complete my247 and all WIAA trainings through FinalForms and SafeSchools through the district prior to the beginning of the sport\'s season
- Supervises and maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security
- Distributes and collects equipment, supplies and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach
- Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- High School diploma or GED
- Per WIAA - minimum age for head coach is 21 years of age, assistant coach is 19 years of age
- Previous Coaching experience preferred
- Reasoning ability
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- CPR/First Aid card
LANGUAGE & TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
- Ability to speak effectively and professionally to administration, staff, students and parents.
- Ability to use district directed platforms to communicate with students and parents, i.e. FinalForms.
