Housekeeping Manager
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Housekeeping Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective daily operation of the housekeeping department and supervising all housekeeping staff. We are seeking someone who brings energy, leadership, and a passion for pristine spaces! As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll play a vital role in creating a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment that directly impacts guest satisfaction and overall resort experience. You’ll also support the associate experience by leading housekeeping teams through training, recognition, and operational support to maintain high standards, efficiency, and team morale.
Salary Range - $50k - $70k
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all housekeeping activities, including guest rooms, public spaces, laundry, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently met.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and motivate housekeeping staff; foster a positive team culture that prioritizes efficiency, accountability, and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and laundry operations to maintain brand standards and guest expectations.
- Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies and linen inventories; ensure cost-effective use of materials while preventing shortages.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, feedback, and special needs, resolving any housekeeping-related issues with professionalism and urgency.
- Ensure housekeeping practices follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including OSHA regulations and resort policies.
- Partner with the Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to coordinate room readiness, maintenance needs, and special events.
- Assist in managing department budgets, labor costs, and supply expenses while driving efficiency and quality outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3-5 years of progressive housekeeping experience in a large resort/hotel (500 rooms), with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role (e.g., Supervisor, Assistant Manager).
- Proven experience leading, training, scheduling, and coaching a diverse team of housekeeping associates.
- Comfortable working in large-scale properties with hundreds of rooms and high guest turnover.
- Able to prioritize tasks, solve problems quickly, and stay calm under pressure.
- Previous experience in a resort, hotel, or high-volume hospitality environment is strongly preferred.
- Having a broad understanding of the tourism industry and the day-to-day operations of a large volume hotel/resort is helpful.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
