Catering Sales Manager
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Catering Sales Manager. In this role, you will handle all event-only bookings with under ten sleeping rooms. You would do this through prospecting, account development, trade show participation, negotiating, contracting, event detailing, onsite support and billing. This is a contracting and servicing position; all events booked by this position will also be detailed and serviced by this position.
As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll serve as a trusted partner throughout the event planning process, ensuring every detail aligns with client expectations and resort standards. Through effective communication and teamwork, you’ll help create a positive associate experience that drives engagement, efficiency, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through prospecting.
- Building and nurturing client relationships.
- Negotiation and Contract Management.
- Partnering with Banquets, Culinary, Convention Services, Guest Services, and other operational teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Resolve client concerns proactively and professionally, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Maintain accurate records and client information within the resort's sales and event management systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Two years of hotel catering/event sales experience.
- Experience and proven success in developing and closing group business is required.
- Have a broad understanding of the events industry and the day-to-day operations of a hotel/resort.
- The ability to establish rapport with leads, discover needs, overcome objections and close a sale.
- The ability to manage your own time and accounts are required.
- Attention to detail when managing accounts is required.
