KAJA Gallery is seeking a reliable, personable, and enthusiastic Gallery Assistant to support the daily operations of our Southampton gallery. This is an opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in art and photography who enjoys engaging with visitors and working in a professional gallery environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage with gallery visitors, providing knowledgeable and attentive assistance
- Answer questions about the artwork, exhibitions, and artist
- Assist clients with artwork purchases and inquiries
- Support exhibition changes, installations, and gallery displays
- Maintain the gallery’s presentation, including the gallery and courtyard
- Assist with events and other day-to-day gallery operations
- Communicate professionally with clients, artists, vendors, and visitors
- Take initiative and assist with additional responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Genuine interest in art, photography, and the gallery environment
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Personable and comfortable engaging with clients and visitors
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Previous gallery, art, retail, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
Schedule: Thursday–Monday | 11:00 AM–7:00 PM
