The Occupational Health Nurse at Kaiser Aluminum Warrick is a vital part of OSHA compliance for the 1200 employee facility. Job tasks entail the daily care of scheduled patients or walk-ins from work related injuries & illnesses, conducting medical surveillance testing in accordance with OSHA and company guidelines, working alongside our HR and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) team, and following administrative process guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for all employees. This is a contract position. Job skills and abilities: Demonstrate the ability to work independently or as a team and make autonomous decisions for on-site occupational health clinic under the supervision of the occupational medicine supervisor and occupational health consultant (physician) Deliver direct clinical care and triage for acute injury and illness, and refer to external healthcare specialists as needed Conduct audiometry, pulmonary function, vision, and hearing screenings, and EKG’s, etc Perform urine drug screening and breath alcohol testing in accordance with company protocol. Knowledgeable of OSHA record-ability, workers compensation, case management, and government regulations. Perform on-site physical assessments for pre-placement, return to work, and fitness for duty evaluations as needed. Collaborate with plant EHS staff and company supervisors to ensure safe and healthy workplace. Responsible for maintenance and implementation of various Kaiser Aluminum Warrick health standards and protocols: implement, and manage acute and preventative occ health services and programs as assigned. Maintain health information to safeguard confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and other state and federal health regulations. About you: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing License to practice Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana (or eligible to obtain) Preferred 5 years experience in Occupational Health, Workers Compensation, Emergency Room, Urgent Care, or Critical Care Prefer experience and knowledge of OSHA recordability, workers compensation, case management, and government regulations Ability to work alone and make independent decisions for on-site occupational health clinic Demonstrate skill and flexibility in daily tasks and ability to learn and work collaboratively with others; Good interpersonal skills with all levels of employees Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, OHM, Benson, OMI, other health databases, etc) Must have electronic health record documentation experience Job expectations: Must be willing to work late evenings and (rarely) weekend shifts as needed.
